Logistics service provider Base Logistics has acquired HealthLink Europa & International. The purchase supports Base Logistics in its ambition to become a leading international logistics organisation.

Base Logistics gives customers access to transport firms and warehouses worldwide via its own digital platform. The logistics provider itself has 15,000 square metres of storage space in Moerdijk. HealthLink handles logistics for medical device manufacturers. The company has branches in Brabant and the United States. The two companies previously worked together. "HealthLink has been a relationship of ours for a long time and the cooperation has become closer and closer in recent times," said Base Logistics' ceo Robin Voet in a press release. "HealthLink makes intensive use of our Transport and Warehouse Management System Klairy, which has thus become the basis of the service we provide to their customers. HealthLink is a healthy and ambitious organisation and thus fits well with Base Logistics' culture and future plans."

The acquisition offers Base Logistics the opportunity to strengthen its position in the North American market. Says Voet: "In the field of Service Parts Logistics, we are already a major player in Europe and we have now built up a nice customer base in America. Thanks to the acquisition of HealthLink, we can further develop our SPL activities from HealthLink's office in Memphis. " It is unclear what amount is involved in the acquisition. The companies will continue to operate under their own names.

Base Logistics has been in the portfolio of investment company Waterland since the end of last year. Waterland's ambition is to build Base Logistics into an "internationally leading organisation" in the field of logistics.
