Bol.com is also going to offer multiple shipping options in Belgium. The e-tailer started evening delivery and is also introducing the Select delivery subscription to our southern neighbours. With this subscription, consumers buy off delivery costs for 9.99 euros for a year.
For now, bol.com customers in Belgium can only have their parcels delivered on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. Evening delivery is only available in Antwerp, East Flanders and Brussels. Consumers pay 2.49 euro extra in delivery costs for this.
Members of Select do not have to pay a surcharge for evening delivery. With the introduction of Select, the e-tailer hopes to increase awareness of its delivery subscription in the country, spokesperson Patty Bouhuijs told Twinkle. Bouhuijs reveals that the company was always considering expansion into Belgium during the development of Select. All orders are delivered from the distribution centre in Waalwijk.
In April, bol.com introduced Select in the Netherlands. Consumers can have some 300,000 items delivered for free, including in the evening. Here, members pay 14.99 euros for the subscription. In Belgium, the subscription is cheaper because same-day delivery is not yet available in the country and evening delivery only takes place on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
