Construction work has started on DHL Express' new Service Centre in Den Hoorn. The building, costing no less than twelve million euros, is to support the growth of DHL Express in the Netherlands.

The branch will be inaugurated in spring 2017 and will provide around 200 jobs. On the plot on the A4 motorway in Den Hoorn, DHL is building a 2,250-square-metre warehouse and 600 square metres of office space. There will also be two Pick-Up & Delivery fingers and 60 spots for loading and unloading delivery vans. The facility will house two existing DHL Express Service Centres, with both parts of the express division still sharing premises with sister company DHL Parcel at the old locations. With the departure of DHL Express, the latter will have the space to continue to grow at these locations.

The construction of the branch for the Rotterdam-The Hague region is part of a 45 million euro investment programme: the largest investment since DHL Express came to the Netherlands forty years ago. In May, DHL Express also opened a Service Centre in Utrecht, with the parcel carrier investing nine million in this new centre.
