Logistics supplier Broekman Logistics is taking over the warehousing activities of the VLS-Group in the Netherlands and Belgium. In doing so, the Rotterdam-based company is focusing on services for the chemical industry.
The VLS-Group is a subsidiary of Gadot Chemical Group, a chemical distribution organisation in Israel. The European subsidiary focuses on integrated logistics and value added services in the chemical industry.
Five locations of VLS-Group
Broekman Logistics is acquiring the company's warehouse facilities in the Netherlands and Belgium. This involves five locations in Antwerp and the Rotterdam-Pernis site. With this, Broekman Logistics amasses 150,000 square metres of storage space and 230 employees. The locations will operate under the name of the new owner.
'Strong strategic match'
Broekman Logistics says the purchase will strengthen its market leadership in the warehousing, distribution and value-added logistics of packaged and specialised chemicals in the Benelux.
"There is a strong strategic match between the two companies as the customer base, locations of the specialised warehousing facilities and type of VAL activities complement each other. This acquisition brings value-added logistics activities such as filling, drumming and packaging, which will definitely benefit our customers and partners," explains Willem Jan van Amersfoort, Managing Director of Broekman Logistics.
The assets in tank storage in the port of Ghent and the German operations are not included in the takeover. The parties did not disclose a takeover amount.
