Members of trade union CNV have also agreed to the new collective agreement proposal for Albert Heijn's logistics staff. Among other things, the new collective agreement promises the 4,500 employees a 3.5 per cent pay rise over two years.

Last week, the union and Albert Heijn already reached an agreement. Only the members of CNV Vakmensen still had to cast their votes. The collective agreement takes effect immediately and also applies to employees who are not members of a union. In addition to the wage increase, 150 temporary workers will be given a four-year contract with a training budget. The four-year contract in particular is a gain for CNV. The union was firmly committed to job security during the negotiations.

The wage increase agreed in the CBA is a 'setback', according to CNV, though. The union had wagered higher during negotiations. Partly for this reason, fellow union FNV did not sign the agreement. FNV was also said to be dissatisfied about some collective agreement provisions. The supermarket chain hopes that FNV will still back the agreement, but says no more talks are ongoing.
