CEVA Logistics will manage the spare parts and components for aircraft manufacturer Airbus for the next five years. Since this month, the logistics provider has been working at the Airbus site in Hamburg to consolidate spare parts.
The logistics facility in Hamburg covers 21,000 square metres and is designed to consolidate parts from locations across Europe, including Germany, France, Spain and the UK. CEVA is implementing more than 20 improvement projects over the next few years to improve efficiency at the site. Some 250 employees work in Hamburg.
CEVA Logistics is an established player in aerospace logistics and hopes to further strengthen its international aerospace business with this long-term contract. "Our companies have previously worked successfully together on other projects," said Mathieu Friedberg, CEO at CEVA. "CEVA's specialist knowledge in this industry combined with our operational and delivery solutions have been crucial in winning this contract."
