Coolblue is to open depots in Nieuwegein and Oostzaan for its own delivery service CoolblueBezorgt. The new depots are a first step towards delivery throughout the Netherlands.
Twinkle reported on the new depots in response to a vacancy on Coolblue's website. The etailer was looking for a 'delivery driver' and a 'delivery team leader' in Oostzaan and in Nieuwegein. Following these vacancies, a spokesperson confirmed the opening of these locations, but the company does not want to disclose anything about further expansions yet. "Coolblue is still investigating whether there will be further depots for CoolblueBezorgt. That research should show how many that will be and where they will be located."
National coverage
In February, Coolblue launched its delivery service CoolblueBezorgt in Brabant, Limburg and Rotterdam. It involves delivery of white goods, from its distribution centre in Tilburg. Coolblue aims for national coverage by the end of 2016, which would involve 50 blue Coolblue vans, driving throughout the Netherlands. "When delivering large products, people really come to your home," said boss Pieter Zwart about the new service. "We are happy that from now on we also know who is coming to your home. We can now confidently let our delivery people drop by your grandmother's house."
