Copal Handling Systems won the Best Intralogistics Innovation Award at the SITL exhibition in Paris. The developer of container unloading systems won with its automated solution for unloading loose boxes from sea containers.
The winning system involves a 3D vision solution, which, combined with sensors and an automatic plug-in mechanism, automates the inbound process. During SITL, the innovation week for Transport and Logistics, Copal was awarded the Best Intralogistics Innovation Award. The jury spoke of a "highly sought-after automation solution for unloading shipping containers".
Particularly in Asia, loading into containers would be manually optimised, resulting in cardboard boxes loaded loosely. In Europe, unloading these containers is a challenge, especially due to the labour shortage in the logistics sector. The Copal system should automate this physical, repetitive unloading process.
