Crown comes out with its own range of lithium-ion batteries and chargers. The so-called V-Force batteries are available for all Crown forklifts.
With this move, the intralogistics specialist aims to better serve fleet operators. They can turn to one supplier for both their forklifts and battery technology. The system is supported by Crown's maintenance and support network. Maintenance engineers will visit the customer's site to ensure that forklifts, chargers and batteries are in good condition. For the V-Force batteries and chargers, Crown also offers rental options.
"V-Force lithium-ion batteries last up to three times longer than lead-acid batteries; and they also offer superior performance," said Horst Kirsch, Senior Manager Product Marketing at Crown. "The batteries charge and discharge more efficiently and deliver consistently high performance throughout the charge. Because you can charge the batteries indefinitely whenever the opportunity arises, you can achieve longer deployment times in a 24-hour period."
These deployment times allow the trucks to be used in multiple shifts. As lithium-ion batteries produce no emissions during charging, Crown says special charging areas are unnecessary.
