DACHSER has acquired all shares of its Chilean subsidiary. With this, the logistics service provider is fully established in the South American country. "We want to expand our presence."
In 2009, DACHSER entered the Chilean market as part of a joint venture. According to the service provider, the country's economy is known as one of the most solid in South and Central America. Moreover, Chile plays a key role in intra-American trade along the Pacific coast.
"Despite experiencing several periods of crisis throughout its history, it has seen significant and stable growth since 2000," says Guido Gries, Managing Director of DACHSER Air & Sea Logistics Americas, "In doing so, Chile has close economic and trade relations with Argentina, Brazil, Asia, Oceania and Europe. We want to expand our presence and closely integrate DACHSER Chile into our global logistics network.´´
Frank Habermann, general manager of DACHSER Chile S.A., was appointed in 2013 to further optimise the sales department for the country organisation. "We offer our customers the full range of services: air and sea freight with professional customs clearance; warehousing and value added services; and heavy and special transports, for the mining industry, among others, which comprises a large part of the Chilean economy," says Habermann.
DACHSER Chile S.A., based in the capital Santiago, currently has 22 employees and generates annual turnover of around 6.3 million euros.
