Delft Robotics changes its name to Fizyr. The name change underlines the company's choice to focus entirely on advanced deep learning software.

Delft Robitics has been working on a variety of automation projects since 2014. Gradually, the team specialised in teaching robots how to handle varying products. At the Amazon Picking Challenge in 2016, Fizyr's team won both challenges (picking and stowing). In doing so, Fizyr says it has put itself on the global map as a forerunner in artificial intelligence for machine vision.

In a press release, Fizyr says it will focus on leading solutions in 3D vision, artificial intelligence and robot guidance. "Fizyr can make a major contribution to the further automation of international integrators in warehousing, logistics, postal services, food and agri and horticulture," the press release reads.
