Dematic has cancelled its participation in trade fair LogiMAT. The intralogistics specialist sees the possible spread of the corona virus among employees and customers as too great a risk.
According to Dematic, during a major event such as LogiMAT, it is unavoidable that visitors or the stand crew could become infected with the corona virus. "Therefore, we have decided to cancel our participation in this important trade fair," said CEO Rainer Buchmann.
The solutions that were scheduled to be demonstrated at LogiMAT will now be presented at a replacement event at Dematic's Imagination Center in Heusenstamm, to registered LogiMAT visitors.
LogiMAT informs on its website that the trade fair, to be held from 10 to 12 March in Stuttgart, will go ahead despite the corona virus. "You can rest assured that the safety and health of our participants are our top priority," the organisation writes. "We trust the assessment of the German health authorities. These unanimously advise caution and prevention, but currently see no reason to restrict the organisation of fairs in Germany/Stuttgart."
