DHL has placed parcel lockers at Rotterdam's Beurs and Rotterdam Centraal metro stations. Travellers can collect ordered parcels there or send them themselves.
The wall consists of a number of lockers in different sizes where customers can collect their items ordered online. When they place their order, they receive an SMS with a code, which they can use to open the locker.
Send parcels yourself
The Parcel Station can also be used to send parcels. Customers prepare their parcels at home using their computer. They receive a label which must be scanned at the Parcel Station. They can then place the parcel in the locker. DHL then ensures that it is collected and delivered to the recipient.
Expansion in metro stations
DHL currently operates around 20 Parcel stations in the Netherlands. In the coming period, DHL and transport company RET will investigate at which other metro stations more Parcel Stations can be placed.
