For the seventh time, the IFOY Award was presented this weekend. Among the winners in Vienna were Jungheinrich, Still and UniCarriers with their intralogistics solutions.

The prestigious International Forklift Truck of the Year (IFOY) Award is presented annually to suppliers with intralogistics products and solutions that are highly regarded worldwide. This edition, the solutions were divided into six categories: Intralogistics Software, Warehouse Truck, AGV & Intralogistics Robot, Counter Balanced Truck, Special of the Year and Startup of the Year.

An overview of the winners and their solutions:

Intralogistics Software - Cargometer

Vienna-based Cargometer won an award for its On-the-fly Freight Dimensioning. The tool is capable of sizing freight on moving forklifts. The jury praised Cargometer's solution for its high customer benefit. On-the-fly Freight Dimensioning can be used to optimise cargo space in trucks and calculate freight rates more precisely.

Warehouse Truck - Jungheinrich

Jungheinrich's ETV 216i reach truck was awarded the most innovative product in the Warehouse Truck category. The ETV 216i is the first reach truck with a fully integrated lithium-ion battery. According to the jury, the innovation represents a fundamental change for the reach truck. "This development goes far beyond simply changing the battery. Lithium-ion batteries are lighter and smaller than lead-acid batteries, allowing the device to be redesigned."

Special of the Year - The Raymond Corporation

The Raymond Corporation, a US-based company, was nominated for an IFOY Award for the first time this year and went straight home with the win. In the Special of the Year category, the company won with the Raymond Virtual Reality Simulator. Using virtual reality goggles, the driving skills of forklift drivers can be trained and tested.

AGV & Intralogistics Robot - Still

Still won over other AGVs and logistics robots with the Liftrunner. This AGV tractor can load and unload automatically. The system is characterised by its simplicity and relatively low investment costs, the jury said.

Counter Balanced Truck - UniCarriers

The award for most innovative forklift truck went to UniCarriers with the TX 3 3-wheel with a load capacity of 1.6 tonnes. The judges praised UniCarriers' forklift truck for its combination of improved ergonomics, good visibility, low energy consumption and a user-friendly electric steering system.

Startup of the Year - ProGlove

Startup of the year is ProGlove. The young company fell in the awards with its eponymous solution: a smart glove that can scan barcodes and 2D codes. The jury comment: "Technologically, the principle of the scanner with camera has been known for some time. However, its miniaturised implementation in a robust matchbox-sized housing is particularly clever."
