Docdata has won the prestigious Dutch Logistics Prize 2015 during Logistica. The logistics service provider takes over from Nike, which went home with the prize last year.

Docdata received the silver sculpture from jury chairman Walter Ploos van Amstel. The jury of the Dutch Logistics Prize, an initiative of vLm, praised Docdata for its continuous focus on customer growth and sales. Many webshops in Europe are said to owe their success to Docdata's logistics. The company responds well to that success by cleverly handling fluctuations in order volumes.

Flexible by using people
Docdata was also present in the LogistiekProfs theatre during Logistica. During a lecture, Jorg Megens, Business Innovator at Docdata, explained that it knows how to deal with these fluctuations by deploying people. "We purchase a number of machines based on base volume. We then supplement the peaks with people. Otherwise, these machines would be idle 80 per cent of the year."

The Dutch Logistics Prize is awarded after a number of intensive preliminary rounds, in which the nominee has to present itself in various sub-areas.
