Logistics service provider Docdata is demanding too high an amount from suppliers of V&D who have yet to recover their stock. This is stated by the receivers of V&D in a letter to the suppliers, in the hands of RTL Z.
Docdata previously handled the e-fulfilment of V&D's webshop. As V&D has been declared bankrupt, the webshop is also off the air. However, the retailer still owes Docdata EUR 1.5 million. Docdata now does not want to simply return the stock, which officially still belongs to the suppliers and not to V&D.

'Far from market compliant'
The logistics provider therefore stated that the suppliers could collect their stock from Docdata's DC in Waalwijk. However, the suppliers must pay a fee of 1.50 euros per item for this. According to Docdata, this is a reasonable amount, but trustees Kees van de Meenten and Hanneke de Coninck argue that this amount is far from in line with the market. Docdata would ask triple what is reasonable.
Lots of costs for Docdata
However, according to Jack Heijkans, general manager and responsible for Docdata's Benelux organisation, this amount is necessary to cover costs. "We have to incur a lot of costs to return items. We have 270,000 items here from over a hundred suppliers, spread across two locations." With this protest, according to Heijkans, the trustees would mainly want to bring down the costs for V&D itself rather than the suppliers. "After all, we also still have a lot of goods from V&D itself in the distribution centres."
