Parcel service DPD is taking one hundred electric buses into service this year. The first buses are already running in Amsterdam and Haarlem. Four other cities will follow later this year.

Electric delivery will also take place in Eindhoven, Breda, Groningen and Maastricht this year. With the use of electric buses, DPD is taking a big step towards its goal of having emission-free deliveries in thirty cities by 2025, including outside city centres. The parcel delivery service aims to cover four hundred routes sustainably by then.

To make its fleet more sustainable faster, DPD is working with Volkswagen (E-Crafter), Mercedes (E-Sprinter) and Renault (E-Master). The company 50five is responsible for the electric infrastructure and charging stations.
