Nike has opened a distribution centre worth 301 million euros. This is Nike's largest distribution centre to date and it's producing some nice images.
The distribution centre in Memphis, Tennessee covers an area of over 260 thousand square metres. Some 53 kilometres of conveyor belts have been installed. From this DC, Nike wants to deliver more products directly to customers. This appears necessary, as the number of deliveries directly to consumers increased by 26 per cent last year.
Nike likes to refer to the brand's history in its buildings. Here, there is a nod to Nike's early years, when shoes were still sold from the boots of cars.
