Hyperloop One wants to build a Hyperloop in Dubai within five years that will allow loads to be transported quickly between ships and container depots. To that end, the company is participating in the Dubai Future Accelerators Programme.
Thirty promising companies have three months in this programme to develop a business plan or prototype for their innovation, writes DuurzaamBedrijfsleven. 1.8 million euros are available monthly for this purpose. After the process, governments and investment companies can invest in the ideas. In the case of Hyperloop, investment company Dubai Holding has already pledged an investment of almost 250 million euros.
Transport system in compressed air tube
Hyperloop is a transport system in an air pressure tube. Capsules are placed in this tube in which goods and/or people can be transported at high speed by vacuum. The maximum speed achievable with this system should be around 1,200 kilometres per hour.

Hyperloop One illustrates the difference in speed between different modes of transport.
Fewer emissions and faster transport
Hyperloop One aims to launch its first hyperloop at the Port of Jebel Ali in Dubai before the end of 2020. The company hopes that, over the course of the three-month trial, it will be able to demonstrate that the transport system can improve traffic flow and significantly reduce harmful emissions.
