Elgersma Logistiek is going to focus entirely on warehousing and storage and transhipment activities. The company will cease all transport activities on 1 May.

Hardewijk-based Elgersma Logistiek will transfer its transport activities to St. vd Brink in Ermelo. This company is willing to take over the transport at the same conditions. Customers, employees and unions have since been informed. In principle, St. vd Brink is not taking over any equipment or drivers, Transport-Online writes. In fact, this is not a takeover. However, attempts are being made to take over some of the drivers.

Elgersma Logistiek focuses on shipments with non-standard sizes and weights. The company has around 12,00 square metres of warehouse space. The decision to stop transport activities concerns a 'strategic reorientation'. The family business was advised by logistics consultancy NextPage. "As a medium-sized company with 31 cars, we are too big for the napkin and too small for the tablecloth," said Marjan Moinat, general manager of Elgersma Logistiek BV. "We have therefore chosen to continue our current warehousing and storage and transhipment activities."
