With Elisabeth Post as its new chairman, Transport en Logistiek Nederland brings in a politician with knowledge of finance, mobility and seaports.
Elisabeth Post will start as the new chairman of Transport and Logistics on 1 May. She has an impressive track record in adjacent areas. She currently works as a deputy in the province of North Holland, where she has been responsible for finance, mobility and seaports for 10 years. Before that, Post was a member of the Provincial Council of North Holland on behalf of the VVD and VVD parliamentary group chairman in the Hilversum municipal council, among other things.
Her 25 years of experience in politics makes her ideally suited for the position, for which the TLN board was looking for a powerful chairman, with a heart for entrepreneurs and a good network in politics. "As a deputy, I was very much involved in mobility: with road construction, with preventing traffic jams, with making sure everyone can drive properly," says Post. "It's a challenge I really enjoy taking up. I know what drives entrepreneurs and feel a strong connection with the sector."
Strengthening the sector
Elisabeth Post will use the first period of her presidency to get to know the sector through and through, for instance by visiting members. Furthermore, she says she will focus on strengthening the sector's position in the Netherlands. "In this changing economy, with a sector where returns are under pressure, that is very important," she says.
"With Elisabeth Post we have found the chairman we were looking for," says acting TLN chairman Wim Pot. "In her career, she has always fought for entrepreneurial Holland. She knows how politics works and knows the right people at both regional and national level. She is therefore well placed to ensure that politics and government listen to what entrepreneurs in transport and logistics need to keep the Netherlands running."
