An energy-saving concept from Colt should ensure fresh air and good heat regulation in distribution centres. In DCs it would now often be too hot, causing a drop in productivity.

Colt came up with the so-called 'Vivaldi' concept for this purpose, which combines cooling heating and ventilation. This combination allows the system to be used any time of year. Vivaldi uses techniques such as adiabatic cooling, cooling air by evaporating water, and natural ventilation.

The system would react quickly to too high temperatures or not enough fresh air. According to Colt, this is necessary for productivity on the shop floor. In doing so, it refers to research by Danish professor Povl Ole Fanger, who states that every degree above 20 degrees Celsius causes a four per cent drop in productivity.
