Transport company
Lucius was declared bankrupt by the court in Den Bosch on Wednesday. The
company says it is still awaiting a payment of 400 thousand euros from Tesla.

The transport firm in Schijndel used to work for the
Tesla factory in Tilburg prior to its bankruptcy. Insolvency practitioner Willem Berendsen told
told Automotive Management that, according to its own accounts, Lucius still has 400 thousand
outstanding with Tesla. “But that doesn’t mean the invoices
are actually recoverable. I don’t know whether there are any counter-claims or claims on the part
Tesla.”

Tesla
, for its part, says it has paid as normal. The blame for the bankruptcy
lies not with the car manufacturer, but with Lucius’s tax debts. “Lucius
has failed to settle substantial tax debts. The tax authorities have
seized its assets. Tesla itself does not owe Lucius any money. Outstanding
debts were settled prior to the bankruptcy, and in doing so, Tesla was obliged
to pay invoices directly to the tax authorities due to the
seizure”, Tesla said in a statement.
