Bakker Logistiek has appointed a new management board, leading to owner Piet Bakker stepping down as managing director. Led by a new management team, the family-owned business expects to remain successful in the future.
Bakker Logistiek has been operating as a logistics service provider in the food sector for more than 100 years, with more than 1,800 employees across 10 branches in the Benelux. Owner Piet Bakker served as the company's managing director for many years, but will hand over that baton from 1 July 2019 to Toon Verhoeven, who will take on the role of CEO. Verhoeven has experience in the food industry and was active in as supply chain director for the past 15 years.
The board will also be formed by Clemens Groot Koerkamp, who will start as chief financial officer (CFO), and Erik Ros, who has already been working as commercial and operations director (COO) since 1 January. "We are confident that with these appointments, new building blocks can be laid for the future of Bakker Logistiek," said Piet Bakker, who remains active with the company as chairman of the Supervisory Board.
