Online department store Lesara is building a new European distribution centre in Germany. The construction involves an amount of 45 million euros.

33,500 parcels per day

Lesara, which offers articles in fashion and lifestyle, aims to serve 24 countries from the new distribution centre in the German town of Erfurt. From 2018, 33,5000 parcels will be shipped daily from the new location. During peak times, the maximum capacity can be increased to 85,000 parcels.

Lesara works with a fast-changing range, 90 per cent of which consists of its own products. The fast retailer says it is on top of trends and, through direct contact with manufacturers, is able to respond quickly. This allows it to have products in its range within 7 to 21 days.

Employment

The new logistics centre will employ around 200 people. Lesara, which was founded in 2013 and is fast approaching a turnover of 150 million euros, currently has over 300 employees.
