Fontys plans to start a part-time bachelor's programme in Logistics in February 2018. The part-time programme 'Logistics Management/Customs& Trade Compliance' focuses on the increasingly complex international logistics, in which chain management and managing customs processes play an important role.

"New legislation and the need for security of data and goods require the right measures and this is one of the reasons why the demand for highly trained logistics professionals is increasing," Fontys states in a press release. The part-time course was created through a collaboration of Fontys with Customs Netherlands, evofenedex, TLN Fenex and other logistics industry organisations.

Link logistics process, customs rules and supply chain compliance

The part-time programme makes the connection between the logistics process, customs regulations and supply chain compliance. "The student develops organisational models and processes for international supply chains, from a customs and compliance management perspective. The study builds knowledge and competences starting with internal business processes and working from there towards issues related to customs and trade compliance management in international supply chains." The programme concludes with a full HBO bachelor certificate.

For those interested in the programme, Fontys is organising an information meeting at the Van der Valk Hotel in Eindhoven on 29 November. The meeting will last from 10:00 to 11:30 and is intended for anyone who wants to know more about the programme. You can register with Merten Koolen, Coordinator Deeltijd Fontys, atm.koolen@fontys.nl.
