Logistics giant Gefco is starting a joint venture with Spanish player Bergé, focusing on logistics services for complete vehicles with their new company Berge Gefco S.L.
The European Commission approved the joint venture this week. Gefco is one of the biggest European players in automotive logistics. Bergé focuses mainly on the Spanish market, offering a wide range of logistics services.
The joining of forces makes Bergé Gefco the market leader in Spain in logistics for complete vehicles, both used and new. The company has more than three million square metres of warehouse space to store 120 thousand vehicles. It also has seven hundred trucks, one hundred rail cars and forty thousand square metres of workshop space.
Gefco and Bergé both own half of the new company. Through the cooperation, they hope to develop new services and better serve customers during seasonal peaks. Bergé Gefco will be operational from 2 January 2019.
