On 2 November, during trade fair ICT & Logistiek, five logistics managers will compete against each other for the title of Logistic Manager of the Year. The candidates will be judged during this preliminary election on how they use logistics as a Game Changer. "The candidates have a certain level of disruption in their genes," says the jury.

With the theme 'Logistics as Game Changer', the organisers want to emphasise that logistics is increasingly acting as a unique selling point. However, the human factor is decisive in the success of logistics processes. This is why managers and young talents who drive innovation are put in the spotlight during this preliminary election. "The candidates for the title Logistics Manager of the Year and Young Logistics Talent of the Year have a certain amount of disruption in their genes. They are out of step and solve issues in a different, often original way. The cases they present are examples of innovation and have the vision befitting a game changer," said Paul Verdult, brand manager at Jaarbeurs.

This year's nominees are Mark Bär (Stamhuis Retail Services), Arthur Bohmer (Xenos), Marc van het Bolscher (Tanatex Chemicals), Arie van der Tempel (EBI) and Bouk Zelissen (ThyssenKrupp Accessibility). The five young logistics talents will also compete for a place in the finals during ICT & Logistiek trade fair. They stand a chance of winning the title Young Logistics Talent of the Year. The candidates have been nominated or have applied themselves for the title. During the preliminary round, they will be challenged by the jury and the public to propose solutions based on topical questions. The public then gets to judge the candidates. The jury will visit the nominees on the shop floor after the fair, make analyses based on the selection criteria and designate three finalists per category. The jury incorporates the public appreciation into the final verdict during the election day in Jaarbeurs on Thursday 30 March 2017. Also on that day, the candidates will be tested in front of the public and the jury on their presentation, ready knowledge and solution orientation.
