The four contenders for the Logistica Award 2017 are known. "Very diverse solutions, but each of them highly applicable in daily logistics practice," said jury chairman prof.dr.ir. René de Koster.

Pack Tools, PrimeVision, Ravas Europe and SafeLoad are still in the race for most innovative, logistics solution with their innovations. The winner will be announced on 28 November, during the opening of Logistica.

Pack Tools 2.0: Wrapplicator
Pack Tools ' entry is the Wrapplicator. A handy tool for hand wrapping, which enables the user to wrap cargo in an ergonomic, safe and efficient way. "In practice, a lot of pallets are wrapped manually with two hands. With this device, you wrap with one hand. It goes a lot faster and you save a lot of film," De Koster explains.

PrimeVision: Autonomous Sorting.
PrimeVision introduces the concept of self-organising logistics. This uses mobile robots that autonomously sort parcels or roll containers. "The secret is not so much in the robot, but mainly in the software. The robots are autonomous and prevent collisions with other robots themselves. You no longer need a fixed sorter and you can easily expand. There are similar concepts, but here the robots often follow a fixed path. PrimeVision's robots work dynamically."

Ravas Europe
SafeLoad is the product name of Ravas' entry. A product that makes a major contribution to safe working with forklifts and loads. Applicable to any forklift, the display provides instant information on the weight of the load, centre of gravity and height sensor. It alerts the driver when there is an unsafe situation. "There is no product on the market yet that measures these indicators all at once," explains De Koster.

WeNova
WeNova is the inventor of the intelligent fifth wheel plate. The fifth wheel can be used for any truck or trailer. It prevents falling off the trailer and also provides a solution for blind spots and, for example, co-driving. "The WeNova ensures that work can be done safely without high costs."

Evaluation criteria

The six-member jury again praised the innovative strength within the logistics field this edition, with entries ranging from innovative improvements to existing systems to concrete solutions with a high degree of direct applicability for logistics problems within one's own business process. The entries were assessed according to a number of evaluation criteria: application value, degree of innovation, economic importance, cost-effectiveness and creativity. The idea behind the submission should have a Dutch input.

Audience Award

In addition to the professional award, a public prize will also be awarded. Visitors can cast their vote for the nomination of their choice on the website or during their registration for trade fair attendance. From 12 September, the nominees can be voted for here.
