Geodis will have drones count inventory in multiple warehouses next year The logistics provider tested the warehouse drones in two DCs in France in recent months. This has yielded positive results, according to Geodis.

Jointly designed by Geodis and Delta Drone, the drone is capable of real-time stock counting and processing in Geodis' WMS. The device consists of a ground-based robot and a quadcopter equipped with cameras. The system features indoor geolocation technology, allowing it to operate autonomously when the warehouse is closed.

The drones were tested in a DC near Paris and a DC near Toulouse. Geodis has 300 distribution centres worldwide and aims to eventually put the drones in all these locations. Next year, it will already start using the drones in some distribution centres outside France.
