The time when logistics dangles as a cost item under Marketing & Sales should really be over now. That argues Robert van Ree, Senior Logistics Consultant at St. Onge Company. Successful companies consider their logistics as a critical success factor and have therefore fully geared itïntegrated into business operations.

During trade fair ICT & Logistics, Robert van Ree will give a lecture entitled "How do I make my logistics more effective?". "While many departments are struggling through with unrelated cost reductionprogrammes, winning companies are deploying their logistics as the biggest differentiator, not only in e-commerce, but also in wholesale and retail."

In order to use logistics as a weapon, companies will therefore have to move away from the classic silo structure. Van Ree further advocates synchronisation of inventory control and warehouse design."Newly built warehouses are still designed based on expected growth in overstock. If you align warehouse and procurement properly, you need much less warehouse space and new construction is sometimes even unnecessary. It remains a difficult topic to discuss. During my lecture, I want supply chain directors and managers to experience how formula selection, inventory control and warehouse design need to work seamlessly together to emerge victorious. "

Robert van Ree' s lecture will take place on 3 November from 15:00 to 15:45 during trade fair ICT & Logistiek. Would you like to attend? You can register here.
