The Amsterdam and Rotterdam Universities of Applied Sciences are investigating the extent to which it is feasible
and profitable to use light electric freight vehicles (LEVVs) for
supplying cities.
The colleges are conducting the study, called LEVV-Logic, with logistics
service providers, shippers, vehicle providers, networking organisations
knowledge institutions and municipalities. The approach is to gather new knowledge on
logistics concepts and business models for the deployment of electric
freight vehicles. Ultimately, a concept should be developed in which the
LEVV is used profitably for urban logistics.
The project started yesterday and will last for two years. The participants
want to use LEVV-Logic to contribute to more efficient and cleaner
freight transport. In doing so, the project is in line with the Green Deal Zero Emission
Urban Logistics Green Deal.
