Inther Logistics and SRD Maschinenbau have sold the first Automated Document Applicator (ADA). The product, which won the Logistica Award audience prize last year, was sold to the distribution centre of construction market BAUHAUS in Krefeld, Germany.
The ADA automates the application of documents to the outside of a box. It prints, buffers, folds and sticks documents with a docufoil on boxes. Both the box format, and the position where the document is applied, can vary continuously in the process. These documents would now often be sent along in the package, whereas in many cases it is mandatory to have these documents visible on the outside.
Last year, Inther competed with the Automated Document Applicator for the Logistica Award, the prize for the most innovative, logistics solution of 2015. Neopost's CVP-500 packaging machine was chosen as the winner by the jury. Inther won the audience award with the ADA.
The ADA will be implemented by Inther & SRD at BAUHAUS in autumn 2016. The construction market aims to improve the efficiency of its packaging process with the product.
