Supermarket chain Jumbo has
past six months opened 100 collection points where consumers can collect groceries ordered online.
The total now stands at 266.

The supermarket chain announced this during the presentation of
its half-yearly results. Jumbo has recently invested heavily in its online
service, which allows consumers to choose whether to
from a collection point or have them delivered to their home. In addition to the 266
collection points, the home delivery service is also available across a large part of the country
.

The half-yearly figures also show that Jumbo has had a good first half of the year
. In the first half of 2016, consumer turnover rose by 13.4
per cent to 3.588 billion euros. “Organic growth in existing Jumbo
stores has risen to 4 per cent. This means that Jumbo’s turnover once again grew
significantly faster than the market.” CEO Frits van Eerd has a clear objective
for Jumbo: “We are working hard to optimise our organisation and drive
grow it further. In doing so, we are focusing on making the Jumbo organisation even more customer-focused and
more responsive. Investments in our
stores and our online sales channel are paying off.”

La Place’s turnover also on the rise
La Place, which recently became part of Jumbo, has also seen growth. The restaurant chain has
opened more branches over the past six months and is becoming an increasingly
part of the Dutch high street. Partly as a result, turnover grew by
eleven per cent.
