Jumbo has had a good Christmas and Easter, which means it now has room to invest in its shop base and the rollout of its webshop. The supermarket chain currently operates 20 delivery vans in the Netherlands, but aims to deliver to customers with 150 delivery vans by the end of this year.

CFO Ton van Veen told the Financieele Dagblad. The vans now only drive in the Utrecht and Eindhoven area, from Jumbo pick-up points to customers. This should change soon.

Jumbo saw its net profit grow from €26.8m to €42.6m in 2015. The company is aiming to push net profit even higher. Currently, profit is only 0.8 per cent of sales. Jumbo wants this to grow to 2 to 3 per cent, the Financieele Dagblad writes.
