A record order for Jungheinrich. An unidentified international customer has ordered more than 1,000 warehouse trucks with lithium-ion technology from Jungheinrich. Growing demand for lithium-ion technology is forcing the forklift manufacturer to expand its production capacity.
The order includes 700 vertical order pickers that will be used in narrow aisles. In a press release, Jungheinrich states that the order is the largest order ever for lithium-ion trucks worldwide. Jungheinrich's customer will deploy the machines in the UK, France, Italy and Germany.
Jungheinrich claims to be the only forklift manufacturer to produce its own lithium-ion batteries. Since 2014, sales of lithium-ion equipment have increased 300 per cent annually. To keep up with this growth, Jungheinrich has decided to further expand its production capacity. Jungheinrich's factory is located in Norderstedt, near Hamburg.
