Kuehne + Nagel has expanded its distribution centre in Geel by 32,000 square metres. With the expansion, the logistics service provider aims to strengthen its logistics operations in Belgium.

Kuehne + Nagel moved into the logistics centre in 2006, which then had an area of 45,000 square metres. The building can store products up to a height of 12.2 metres. The new site includes a separate area for pharma-related goods, part of Kuehne + Nagel KN PharmaChain. According to the logistics provider, the site is equipped with modern technology, including ESFR sprinklers and an emergency energy supply.

The facility in Geel acts as a hub in the European and global distribution of products in Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG), pharmaceuticals and healthcare. "With the expansion, we meet the demand of customers who want to benefit from a location in the heart of Europe," said Kevin Nash, Managing Director of Kuehne + Nagel BeLux.
