L'Oréal implements Manhattan Active Warehouse Management in all its 150 distribution centres. In doing so, the cosmetics company acquires a cloud-native WMS that does not require an upgrade.

Manhattan Active Warehouse Management is the latest product in Manhattan's cloud-based offering. The WMS does not need to be upgraded and is fully extensible in terms of data, services and UI thanks to microservices. The system was developed based on gamification theory and behavioural science.

The new WMS should provide greater speed and adaptability at L'Oreal. "L'Oréal's global network of fulfilment centres ensures that the right products reach consumers at the right time, with the least impact on the environment. With Manhattan Active Warehouse Management, we have a solution that will improve our flexibility thanks to the digitisation, efficiency and productivity of our distribution centres," said Francisco Garcia Fornaro, group supply chain director at L'Oréal.

The first implementation will start in European distribution centres in mid-2021, with the solution being implemented in L'Oreal's distribution centres worldwide by the end of 2023.
