German online fashion giant Lesara has moved into its own distribution centre. From the new location, the online retailer wants to respond even faster to market demand.

Lesara moved into a 31,000-square-metre distribution centre in Erfurt in central Germany on Friday, involving an investment of 45 million euros.

Supply chain management

With the opening of its own distribution centre, Lesara says it is further betting on supply chain management, for which it recently won Gartner's Retail Supply Chainnovators Award 2018.

Handling of products

Lesara works with a high turnover rate because it constantly adapts its assortment to the searches on the website. Direct collaborations with factories mean that only ten working days are needed to notice a trend and make it available to customers. Lesara will therefore use the logistics centre mainly for transhipment, rather than for storing products.
