Dutch companies have implemented significantly more technological innovations in the past year. Logistics companies in particular lead the way in implementing innovations. This is according to a report by the Rotterdam School of Management and Erasmus University (RSM).
Dutch companies implemented 2.9 per cent more radical innovations last year, researchers say. This is the highest percentage since the first measurements in 2006.
As examples, the researchers cite big data, 3D printing and robotisation; technologies that are already widely used in logistics. Companies would invest in these more often as the economy is picking up and the decline in R&D and ICT investments has stabilised. Life science and high-tech companies are also not afraid of adopting new technologies, which is reflected in the growth in the Eindhoven region. The region innovated 9.8 per cent more last year than the year before.
