McDonald's now also delivers orders to people's homes in The Hague. The fast food chain now operates in four major Dutch cities with its home delivery service.

The expansion follows successful launches in Amsterdam, Rotterdam and Utrecht. With the expansion in The Hague, McDonald's currently delivers from 21 branches in the Netherlands. For the home delivery service, it cooperates with UberEats, which has also been active in The Hague since last week.

McDonald's was previously cautious about home delivery, partly due to the challenge of keeping the food warm during the trip. With the popularity of meal delivery companies like Deliveroo, Foodora and UberEATS, it decided to change strategy. Late last year, it launched home delivery in the US, followed by Britain and the Netherlands. Since around three-quarters of Dutch consumers live within a five-kilometre radius of a Mcdonald's branch, it would be quite feasible in large cities to deliver food quickly.
