Dutch company Neopost Shipping has won the 2017 MHI Innovation Award during the ProMat in the United States. Neopost received the award in the 'Best New Innovation' category for the CVP-500, a fully automatic packaging machine that packs orders to size.
The MHI Innovation Awards were presented on 5 April 2017 during ProMat, the international trade fair for logistics and the supply chain in North and South America. The awards ceremony comprised three categories: Best New Innovation, Best Innovation of an Existing Product and Best IT Innovation. A seven-member expert jury assessed a total of 153 entries based on the innovative nature of the concept, its impact on the supply chain and the added value it brings to the industry.
The jury praised the CVP-500’s contribution to optimising the packaging process and making it more sustainable. The machine, which had previously been honoured with the Logistica Award, measures the 3D
dimensions. A bespoke box is then
order, sealed and labelled ready for dispatch. This eliminates any unnecessary air or void-fill material, resulting in savings on packaging materials and transport volume.

Neopost launched the CVP-500 in early 2016. Since then, the packaging machine has been installed at various e-commerce and 3PL companies in Belgium, France and the United States.
In the Netherlands, the CVP-500 is in operation at, amongst others, the Blokker
in Gouda and at CEVA Logistics in Venray.
