Omron has launched a new range of
of mobile robots that can navigate autonomously in distribution centres
. The robots are designed to
transport goods in warehouses, distribution centres and production facilities.
The LD robots have a maximum load capacity of 130 kilograms. Thanks to patented
Acuity technology, the robots can navigate autonomously. No
infrastructure modifications are required, as the robots navigate
the natural layout of the facility. This means that floor magnets or laser beacons do not
be installed. The robots are also capable of constantly
movements of people, pallets and forklift trucks. A fleet consists
of up to 100 vehicles and can be managed centrally by a
fleet manager. This manager can communicate with the warehouse’s
the warehouse.
One of the robots is the LD cart transport robot, an automated solution for moving carts. The robot approaches the trolley in such a way that it automatically docks it. According to Omron, this robot is therefore a solution for assembly lines or e-fulfilment in a distribution centre.
