Britain's departure from the European Union will most likely also have negative consequences for Dutch logistics. That is the opinion of Transport en Logistiek Nederland (TLN). The transport organisation believes that governments should now engage with each other as soon as possible to limit the potential negative consequences for trade and transport.

Because of the Brexit, Britain has to conclude new trade agreements not only with the EU but also with other countries. This creates uncertainty for businesses and consumers. TLN pleads for those agreements to be concluded soon so that the uncertainty is removed as soon as possible.

TLN stresses that this could have major consequences for the logistics sector. Over 500 Dutch trucks drive to Britain every day. So the removal of free trade will potentially have negative consequences for transport companies. Logistics service providers such as freight forwarders and storage and transhipment companies will also be negatively affected by declining transport flows between the EU and Britain.
