Multiple robbers entered bol.com's distribution centre in Waalwijk on Sunday morning. Two security guards were overpowered around 09.00 and did not raise the alarm until hours later. Whether any items were taken from the DC is still unclear. Bol.com announced after the raid that the delivery of thousands of parcels may be delayed.

The two security guards did not raise the alarm until around 2.50pm. The police immediately rushed out with several units but failed to catch the perpetrators. It seems that the robbers had been in the premises on Pakketweg for quite some time. It is unclear what happened in the meantime; the police do not want to make any announcements about this due to the investigation. The security staff were not injured.

Perpetrators still at large

To the AD, a police spokesperson says it still has many questions, "and few answers". It is also reluctant to share information because it does not want to implicate the perpetrators. Because of the many cameras on the premises, there is a good chance that the robbers are on camera. The images are being requested.

Bol.com 'very shocked'

A spokeswoman for bol.com said the company was very shocked by the robbery. A special team is taking care of the employees who were at work at the time of the incident.

Delay and extra capacity

Due to the robbery and the detective investigation, bol.com's logistics processes were temporarily at a standstill on Sunday. This may cause delays in the coming days. Customers waiting for a package will be informed by bol.com. Extra capacity should ensure that the delay is limited.

Police are asking people with more information about the incident to come forward.
