Penske Logistics Europe has installed 800 solar panels on the roof of its warehouse in Roosendaal.

The logistics service provider is thus further committed to sustainable operations. Earlier, Penske Logistics stopped using a filling station and underground tanks. Moreover, the building in Roosendaal was already fitted with LED lighting.

Almost self-sufficient
The 800 solar panels generate around 230,000 kWh of solar energy annually. Electricity consumption in the building averages 300,000 kWh. So if there are many sunny days, the warehouse can be almost completely self-sufficient.

Warehouse roofs often lie unused
More and more warehouses are equipped with solar panels. Not surprising, as the hundreds of square metres on warehouse roofs often lie unused. Solar panels therefore seem a logical step. It requires a hefty investment, but it pays for itself through tax benefits and hefty savings on energy costs.
