Employees at Jumbo distribution centres have been carrying out punctuality actions since yesterday evening. The workers and union members hope to get Jumbo to the table in this way to still talk about a new collective agreement.
The actions - which involve staff working in full compliance with health and safety standards - are causing delays in loading and unloading, among other things. This could cause problems with the stocking of Jumbo shops.
Workers at Jumbo want the supermarket chain to negotiate a new collective agreement Jumbo Logistics, which applies to some 3,000 employees. The old collective agreement expired on 1 April. Jumbo itself did not want to negotiate a new CBA with the unions until July. As of that time, in fact, the CBA supermarkets and the CBA AH Logistics were concluded. According to the supermarket chain, waiting until 1 July could ensure more equality in the industry.
Unions FNV and CNV called this "absurd" and gave Jumbo until Monday 18:00 to come up with proposals to resume negotiations. Jumbo did not respond. According to the unions, the supermarket chain is trying to buy time in order to find out what the competition is doing with the collective agreements. In turn, the supermarket chain accuses the unions of walking away from the talks.
