Picnic is expanding its delivery area in Amsterdam. On Wednesday, the first groceries were delivered in Amsterdam-West and the Jordaan.
The online supermarket was already active in the capital, but only in districts in Amsterdam East and South. Now Westerpark, Oud-West, De Baarsjes, Bos en Lommer, Geuzenveld, Osdorp-Oost and Overtoomseveld are added.
There are now 13,000 households in Amsterdam registered with the Picnic app. The question is whether all these households will be served immediately or be put on the waiting list. In West, only eight delivery vans are currently operating, with 20 delivery drivers. By the end of this year, that should be 30 delivery cars with 60 runners. By the end of 2018, a total of 120 delivery drivers should be working in Amsterdam.
