Picnic will open a third distribution centre next month. In Diemen, the online supermarket is moving into a new 10,000-square-metre location.
The new location complements the current distribution centres in Nijkerk and Utrecht, where Picnic says it has already reached maximum capacity. The distribution centre will employ 300 people and should be operational by the end of January.
From the new location, Picnic will be able to supply groceries to new cities in the Netherlands. Haarlem and Heemstede, for instance, are on the cards. Picnic currently delivers groceries to 85,000 households in 30 cities. The online supermarket employs 750 delivery staff.
