Supermarket chain PLUS wants to make the last mile sustainable with the deployment of a delivery bicycle and a stint. In the coming months, the supermarket will investigate whether the means of transport can be added alongside the delivery vehicle.
PLUS is testing cargo bike Urban Arrow and electric transport vehicle Stint Cargo. In the Sting Cargo, the driver is on the back. This also allows PLUS to reach locations in busy city centres. This is because both means of transport can be used in car-free zones.
The cargo bike and stint are being tested by five PLUS supermarkets in IJsselstein, Abcoude, Almere, Delft and Haaksbergen.
